Cerrito Forum  in your city ends in Asunción

Cerrito Forum in your city, the new modality implemented by the Fundación Paraguaya to reach several cities of the countryside, with a meeting of innovation, development, and strategies for the elimination of poverty, completed its journey in the capital city of Asunción, in an event that took place at the Hotel Villa Morra Suites, and was attended by referents on the subject, authorities, community leaders and women entrepreneurs. The tour previously passed through cities in the Central, Paraguarí, Itapúa, Caaguazú, Cordillera, San Pedro and Alto Paraná departments.

In the previous meetings, as well as in this last one, the objective was to raise awareness and nurture these leaders with the resources of the Poverty Stoplight and share knowledge, ideas, and solutions for the problem of poverty in Paraguay. “What we seek with the Stoplight is to support families to know where they are, where they want to go and what to do to get out of poverty and improve their quality of life,” said the Executive Director of Fundación Paraguaya during the meeting.

Participants talked about their experiences in their communities, neighborhoods, or organizations, and were also very interested in the Stoplight methodology and the work of Fundación Paraguaya itself. Mr. Burt said that the methodology is available to everyone, and any organization or neighborhood commission can use it. “Each family can have its own plan to escape poverty, for more than 10 years we have been traveling the country with the Stoplight and we have discovered that families are the owner of their own destiny,” he said.

With the Cerrito Forum, traditionally held at the Cerrito Agricultural School, it seeks to position the Fundación Paraguaya as a national, regional and world benchmark in eliminating poverty, and to tell the experience of the Poverty Stoplight as a valid tool to improve quality life of families and communities.
