Ordinary General Assembly approved financial year 2018

On an emotional night, Fundación Paraguaya held its 33rd Ordinary General Assembly, where the Annual Report and the 2018 financial year balance, as well as the results obtained in that period, were presented to its members and executives. This year, our organization completed 34 years of institutional life, having achieved significant achievements in its quest to eliminate multidimensional poverty in Paraguay and the world.

During 2018, Fundación Paraguaya managed to install programs developed in 5 continents, becoming the most international Organization born in our country. Also, to the pride of all Paraguayans, the Inter-American Development Bank awarded Fundación Paraguaya the Juscelino Kubitschek “Visionaries” Award, which establishes it as the Organization with the greatest impact in Latin America and the Caribbean, an award that is held for the first time by an Organization of our country. More than 650 organizations and foundations from 26 countries participated in the competition.

In addition, approximately 150,000 young people received different financial education programs and the self-sustaining schools of Fundación Paraguaya generated more than one million dollars in revenue.

After the formal ceremony and the presentation of the results obtained during the 2018 period, the attendees participated in a reception, crowning the day with a catering service given by the students of our Cerrito Self-Sustaining School, with recipes focused on the star product: the “Cerrito” Iberian cheese – the first matured cheese in the country,- made from goat’s milk and cow’s milk. The Spaniard Cheese maker master, Ricardo Negrete, shared with the dinner guests recipes and secrets about this gourmet product, with a local market of 3000 kilos per month.
