The 2022 “Mi baño, mi cocina, mi orgullo” national contest from Fundación Paraguaya returns

Fundación Paraguaya presents a new edition of the successful “Mi baño, mi cocina, mi orgullo(My bathroom, My kitchen, My pride) national contest, which encourages families to work for a healthier environment, through healthy competition that will have cash prizes, ranging from PYG 10 to 5 million.

The purpose of the contest is for members of the different committees of women entrepreneurs that are part of Fundación Paraguaya to unite and designate a representative who wants to improve and transform her bathroom or kitchen, so that at the same time, by doing so, she can turn into green her Poverty Stoplight‘s bathroom and kitchen indicator.

This is the seventh edition of the contest, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. This initiative seeks to promote the competitive spirit of women entrepreneurs as a key factor to join efforts and improve the quality of life of their families, through the construction of new bathrooms, with cistern, toilet, water, with decent floors and walls, or spacious, elevated, ventilated, gas or electric kitchens, well-lit and above all, clean, thanks to the organized and supportive community mobilization.

In this contest, self-management will be rewarded, which is the key to achieving the objectives, where the women’s committees and participating families must mobilize and generate resources to overcome the challenges posed in each of these initiatives, proposed by the organizers. Fundación Paraguaya accompanies women throughout the process.

The last winners of this contest were Aniceta Díaz Garcete, who left behind the latrine and built a modern bathroom in her house located in San Juan Nepomuceno; and Analía Balbuena, who modernized the kitchen of her house in Mariano Roque Alonso.

The prizes are a savings account of PYG 10,000,000 for the winning committee and PYG 5,000,000 for the representative, but without a doubt, the main prize is the satisfaction of having substantially helped improve the quality of life of a family.
